Welcome to the KeLawar Cricket Club web site.

KeLawar is the Cricket Club of the Malaysian Australian New Zealand Association (MANZA) and its members are from numerous nationalities from around the world that find themselves living in Malaysia.  To be a member of the KeLawar Cricket Club you must also be a member of MANZA.  Anyone can join MANZA but only Malaysian, Australians and New Zealanders are voting members. There is a choice between a full membership and the Sports Affiliated membership, at a reduced membership fee.  See below for membership fees for both KeLawar and MANZA.

Back in 1993, cricket was not as popular in Malaysia as it is now so the KeLawar Cricket Club was established in Kuala Lumpur to provide a team to play in both social and competitive cricket matches for expatriates and Malaysians. Since then, cricket in Malaysia, and the KeLawar Cricket Club, have continued to grow and there are now many more leagues and tournaments to participate in.

In 2008, KeLawar will participate in Division 1 and 3 of the National Inter Club League (NIC), Navaratnam Shield and the Tunku Imran League as well as many social games in and around Kuala Lumpur. There are also Six a side and 8 a side tournaments, that are very fast and entertaining, that the club participates in.  As well as those matches played in Kuala Lumpur, KeLawar also partakes in tours to Penang, Kuantan and Singapore, just to name a few.

KeLawar also enjoy hosting touring teams visiting Malaysia. In the past, we have hosted teams from Australia, Singapore, and Thailand. If you are interested in arranging a tour match, please contact us at the email address below.

Due to the shortage of available cricket pitches in Kuala Lumpur, in 2004 the KeLawar Cricket Club donated an Astro Turf cricket pitch to the Alice Smith International School, Equine Park Campus. This is now used as the club’s home pitch, however it is currently unavailable due to damage that needs repairing. Having the facility of a home pitch has added many more matches into the club’s calendar so the club is looking at finding a temporary home pitch until the repairs at Alice Smith can be completed. There is plenty of cricket to be played and KeLawar are always looking for more players to join.

If you are interested in finding out more about the KeLawar Cricket Club, such as where did the name Kelawar come from (Malaysian word for bat - not bat like in cricket bat but as in flying bat) then please email us at inquiry@kelawarcc.com

The KeLawar Cricket Club is a non-profit organisation that relies on volunteers to make the club run smoothly so even if you are not a player but would like to get involved then please contact us.

A committee is elected each year at our AGM, which is held at the end of January. Contact details for the current committee are as follows:
